I’ve redone my website

I’ll be honest. It is not the first time this has happened. The vicious cycle usually goes something like this:

  1. Design and implement a beautiful website
  2. Become bored and frustrated with site design
  3. Tear it down and start again from scratch

It seems like the problem lies somewhere between step one and step two. The site design seemed to be what consistently tripped things up. Obviously, something had to change. In an effort to break this cycle, I decided to take a different approach.

Designed to grow

The new site was built to grow in both content & design. Each project page has its very own color scheme. The ability to define the design of each individual page provides a strong incentive to create.

By keeping the site layout simple, designing new features has become a fun task. If I become dissatisfied with any piece of the site design, it’s trivial to rip it out and rethink it.

The new site will change and evolve. Hopefully it will last for quite some time. It turns out that instead of some new leaves, what I really wanted was a tree.
